The DM5E series from Waygate Technologies is a compact ultrasonic thickness gauge designed for corrosion monitoring and general thickness measurement. Its simple keypad, stable readings and long battery life make it suitable for extended inspection routes in oil & gas, petrochemical, power generation and general industrial environments.

Three models are available:

• DM5E Basic – essential corrosion and thickness measurement
• DM5E – adds dual-multi mode for through-coating measurements
• DM5E DL – adds a datalogger and reporting workflow

All versions use the same familiar interface and support commonly used dual-element and straight-beam probes.

• Typical probes: 5 MHz dual-element or 7.5 MHz straight-beam for thin sections

5. Glass Thickness Measurement

• UT checks on sight glasses and industrial viewing windows
• Velocity adjustment for non-metallic materials
• Clean back-wall response with high-frequency probes
• Typical probes: 7.5–10 MHz straight-beam

6. GRP / Fibreglass & Non-Metallics

• Local checks on GRP tanks, covers and composite panels
• Suitable where a clear back-wall echo is achievable
• Typical probes: high-frequency straight-beam (material-dependent)

7. General Corrosion Mapping

• Route-based wall-loss surveys on plant assets
• B-scan generation for simple corrosion profiles
• Large data capture via DM5E DL for reporting and trending
• Typical probes: dual-element (frequency based on thickness)
